Orkla Food Ingredients (OFI) is a leading supplier of food ingredients, with operations across Europe and the United States. We deliver ingredients that elevate taste, nutrition and convenience meeting the evolving needs of today’s consumers. Our portfolio includes a wide range of categories within the bakery, ice cream, and plant-based sectors, serving both artisanal and industrial players. The group consists of more than 60 local business units throughout Europe and the US.
Over the last 10 years OFI has more than doubled in size in terms of revenues both through organic growth and acquisitions. We are on a continued growth journey in the years to come and therefore seek to strengthen the business development and M&A team. Orkla Food Ingredients is co-owned by Orkla (majority owner) and Rhône Group (a private equity fund, minority owner).
About the role and the team
As a senior analyst in the business development and M&A team, you will play a key role in growing the business through organic and structural growth. You will be a part of a small and dedicated team, working hands on with group management’s top agenda. The work includes developing business plans for the group, working on dedicated growth initiatives and supporting local companies, as well as working on and running M&A projects. You will have exposure to the management team, and facilitate discussions with the Board of Directors.
The position is based in Oslo, Skøyen, at the Orkla headquarters. You will be a part of the OFI HQ team, and report to VP Business Development. Some travel is to be expected as part of the role but is usually limited to a few days a month for important meetings.
Key responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with the management team, create and develop business plans for the Group, including working on key growth initiatives
- Drive commercial improvement projects for local business units
- Support and drive M&A projects for the Group, in addition to identifying and analyzing potential new acquisition targets
- Various work to assist on the general CEO and Board agenda
Candidate Profile
You are an ambitious problem solver with a strong analytical toolbox and mindset. You have a background in management consulting, investment banking, or finance and M&A. You get motivated by the thought of driving transformations and understand the importance of getting people across the whole organization onboard on the change journey. You are experienced in creating business plans, P&L modelling, and creating management level presentations. Experience from M&A transactions is not required, but an advantage.
Key Qualifications
- Completed higher education with strong academic results
- 2-4 years of professional experience in management consulting, finance, or M&A
- Fluent in written and spoken English and a Scandinavian language
- Analytical mindset and ability to structure and analyze data to build case/analysis
- Ability to manage complex projects and navigate fast-paced environments
- Strong collaboration, communication and presentation skills - ability to build reports, skills in fact-based argumentation and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders in different levels of the organization
